Aeromexico Eyes 2027 Return to Caracas and US Route Growth

Aeromexico is planning to expand its international network after U.S. regulators lifted restrictions on new routes and added service between Mexico City and the United States. CEO Andrés Conesa said the airline is assessing U.S. destinations and may announce an initial group soon, with flights potentially starting in early 2027, subject to airport slots and regulatory approvals. The additional flexibility could support more U.S. frequencies, though the airline has not yet confirmed destinations or schedules. Separately, Aeromexico plans to resume flights to Caracas in the first quarter of 2027, postponing its return because earthquake damage at Maiquetía airport raised operational-safety concerns. The airline expects to use Boeing 737 MAX aircraft on the Venezuela route.
