AfroTech draws thousands to Houston conference
AfroTech 2026 brought technology professionals, entrepreneurs, investors, students and executives to Houston for programming on AI, healthcare innovation, entrepreneurship, cybersecurity and other emerging fields. The conference also emphasized career access and networking: Disney partnered with Howard University on a space where HBCU students could meet industry professionals and explore opportunities. Career recruiters encouraged attendees to focus on a targeted job search, build relationships and use events to make meaningful connections rather than treating networking as a shortcut to an interview. The event’s agenda reflected AfroTech’s growth beyond recruiting toward broader business exchange, innovation and community-building.
