Agencies plan ramp changes across four states
Transportation agencies are implementing several ramp and traffic-pattern changes. Michigan will activate a meter on the Spencer Road entrance ramp to eastbound I-96 on Oct. 23 to improve merging and reduce congestion near US-23. South Carolina will open a flyover connecting southbound I-95 to eastbound I-26 on Oct. 22, replacing the existing loop ramp; intermittent lane closures are planned during the shift. In Massachusetts, a temporary relocation will move the I-495 northbound exit to I-90 about 1,000 feet north of its current location, while a University of North Dakota parking ramp will restrict its northwest access point to right-turn exits onto University Avenue to ease construction-related congestion.
