Airbus reportedly delivers 74 jets, needs year-end surge
Airbus reportedly delivered 74 aircraft in October, bringing its year-to-date total to 621, though the October figure had not yet been officially confirmed. The company is maintaining its 2026 goal of about 870 deliveries, which would be a record, but needs to hand over roughly 249 aircraft in November and December—about 125 per month—to reach it. Airbus typically makes more deliveries at year-end, and CEO Guillaume Faury has expressed confidence, citing substantial aircraft inventory, but the required pace poses a production and logistical challenge. Supply-chain disruptions and engine shortages remain risks, and Airbus has cut delivery forecasts in the past. It led Boeing in deliveries through September, with 547 aircraft compared with Boeing’s 475.
