Alabama honors eight officers for lifesaving actions
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency honored eight officers for courage and lifesaving actions at a Nov. 4 ceremony in Montgomery. A SWAT agent who was shot multiple times during a Feb. 11 operation received the Purple Heart; three other agents were recognized for helping coordinate the response and emergency transport. Four troopers received Life-Saving Awards: William Norris and Leland Hanford administered Narcan to a man who collapsed at a Walker County checkpoint, Nate Brown performed CPR on an unresponsive man in Decatur, and Kristy Wallace assisted a choking guest. An off-duty FBI agent also helped continue CPR in Decatur, and FBI personnel were among those recognized for their actions.
