Alaska Airlines plans nonstop Seattle flights to Osaka and Tahiti
Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines plan to launch nonstop flights from Seattle to Osaka, Japan, on May 14, 2027, and to Papeete, Tahiti, on June 11, pending government approval. Hawaiian A330s will operate the Osaka route four times a week and the Tahiti route three times a week, making the combined airline the only carrier with nonstop Seattle service to either destination. The additions are part of Alaska’s effort to expand Seattle into a global gateway, with a goal of serving at least 15 long-haul international destinations by 2030. Hawaiian will continue serving both destinations from Honolulu, and plans to refresh its A330 interiors starting in 2028.
