Alzheimer’s Walks Raise Funds Across Communities

Walk to End Alzheimer’s events in Longview, Akron and Victoria brought together local residents to support Alzheimer’s care, research and efforts to find a cure. Akron’s walk raised $230,381, reaching 77% of its goal, while Victoria’s event drew 182 participants organized into 29 teams; organizers there were close to their fundraising target. Participants in Akron used colored Promise Garden flowers to represent their connections to the disease, and Longview’s event included walkers and dogs. Proceeds from the walks support the Alzheimer’s Association’s care, support and research programs.
