Amarillo Names Rhoades Interim City Manager

Amarillo City Council appointed Rodney Rhoades interim city manager after Grayson Path resigned in September, with Deputy City Manager Andrew Freeman serving in the role in the interim. Rhoades brings nearly four decades of public-sector experience, including executive positions in municipal, county and regional utility organizations in Texas. He will work with council members and department leaders to maintain city services and guide the transition while the city searches for a permanent manager. The city expects his contract to last six months to a year, with the possibility of an extension.
