Angel Yin makes Solheim Cup team after 35-pound illness struggle
Angel Yin says she is ready to represent the United States at the Solheim Cup after missing two months with severe stomach issues, losing 35 pounds and struggling in her recent return tournament. Although she shot 81-76 and missed the cut at the FM Championship, Yin said her health and game are improving and that she had candid discussions with captain Angela Stanford, who supported her inclusion on the team. Yin qualified automatically behind Nelly Korda but has fallen to No. 25 in the world rankings, so Stanford is expected to manage her workload rather than use her in all five matches. Lilia Vu is traveling as an alternate as the Americans face Europe in the Netherlands.
