Angus King Endorses Dunlap for Congress

Independent Sen. Angus King has endorsed Democrat Matt Dunlap in Maine’s 2nd Congressional District race, saying his experience working with Dunlap when King was governor showed him to be tough, smart and a strong advocate for his constituents. King also highlighted Dunlap’s support for Maine’s sportsmen and women, including his work with the Sportsman’s Alliance of Maine. Dunlap, the state auditor and a former legislator and secretary of state, is challenging Republican former Gov. Paul LePage for the seat being vacated by Democrat Jared Golden. The race is considered competitive, though forecasts generally give LePage an edge in the Republican-leaning district.
