Animal Clinics Expand Access Across Communities
Several organizations are expanding access to veterinary care through mobile services and local clinics. In San Antonio, Spay Neuter Network will take over the city’s East Side clinic on Oct. 27, continuing free or affordable sterilization and basic care for residents. Oregon Humane plans to launch a Salem-area mobile clinic by next summer to provide preventive care and spay-and-neuter services, while a mobile acupuncture practice in North County, California, is offering in-home treatment for pets with pain and chronic conditions. In rural North Dakota, Towner Animal Health Clinic is adding exam and surgery rooms to improve care for pets and livestock across McHenry County. Jakarta’s five mobile clinics have served 4,377 animals at 214 sites, reflecting a similar effort to bring veterinary services to more communities.
