Animal Shelters Spotlight Dogs Seeking Adoption

Several local shelters are highlighting adoptable pets seeking permanent homes. Skeeter, a trained one-year-old dog, has been at the Lynchburg Humane Society for about a month, while Kyle, a friendly two-year-old Lab mix, is available through Evansville Animal Care and Control. Peter, a house-trained three-year-old Rough Collie mix at the SPCA of Anne Arundel County, enjoys walks and has previously lived with children; the SPCA says it aims to match animals with homes where they can thrive. Knox News is also featuring local shelter animals in a Pet of the Week contest, inviting readers to vote for a winner.
