AP projects Tedford winning Oklahoma House seat

Republican Mark Tedford won Oklahoma’s 1st Congressional District seat, defeating Democrat John Croisant and becoming the first Missouri Southern State University graduate elected to Congress. A Tulsa-area businessman and former state legislator, Tedford has emphasized an America-first economy, lower taxes, limited federal spending, border security and support for small businesses. After the election, he said voters were frustrated with partisan conflict and wanted attention to everyday concerns; he also suggested Republicans should reassess tariffs, the Iran war and some immigration enforcement policies. Tedford said he plans to explain how federal policies affect his district and will consider working with Democrats where he agrees with their proposals.
