Apartment Fires Displace Dozens Across Three Cities
Apartment fires in Hazleton, Boston and Salisbury, Maryland, displaced residents and prompted rescues. In Hazleton, firefighters rescued six people from upper floors of a building after a first-floor fire; one person was treated for minor injuries, and nine residents were displaced. In Boston’s Brighton neighborhood, six people were rescued, including a 40-year-old and a 4-year-old who were hospitalized, while at least 38 residents were displaced. In Salisbury, a fire at a senior apartment complex displaced six people but caused no injuries; investigators said it likely began accidentally when combustible materials were too close to a heat source, and alarms and sprinklers activated.
