Apollo Micro Systems Secures Navy PSO for SAVIOR-ASW

Apollo Micro Systems Limited has been awarded a Make-II Prototype Sanction Order by the Indian Navy to design, develop, and demonstrate the SAVIOR-ASW, a semi-submersible unmanned vessel for enduring anti-submarine warfare and intelligence gathering. The Make-II framework stipulates zero government cost for prototype development, with procurement to follow upon successful trials, underscoring India’s push for domestic, self-reliant defense technology. The SAVIOR-ASW integrates advanced acoustic sensor arrays, AI/ML-based target classification, and encrypted communications to enable autonomous, long-duration maritime surveillance without onboard personnel. The award marks AMS’s transition from components into a full prime platform developer for the Indian Navy, leveraging its arms manufacturing licenses and strategic acquisitions to build weapon-class systems. This initiative aligns with Atmanirbhar Bharat and India’s broader goal of indigenizing critical naval capabilities, especially in the increasingly important autonomous underwater warfare domain.
