Fall exhibitions span historic photos, night-sky art and stitchers milestone
Galleries and museums in several U.S. cities and Worthing, England, are presenting a varied slate of fall and November exhibitions. Hoboken and Jersey City shows include historic photographs documenting local life from 1889 to 1934 and contemporary work by local artists, while Chicago’s offerings range from Mexican immigrant and trans artist Karla Wong’s paintings to a group exhibition inspired by the night sky. Worthing’s Colonnade House features painting, drawing, ceramics and textile art, including a show marking the Southdowns Creative Stitchers’ 50th anniversary. In southwest Ohio, exhibitions include work by graduating University of Dayton students and photography and sculpture exploring everyday life and the idea of work-life balance. Salem’s November program includes a fashion show, monochrome art, and exhibitions focused on comics and manga.
