A Democratic member of Congress suffered a slip-up while talking about former President Donald Trump’s handling of classified documents.
Stacey Plaskett (D), a nonvoting delegate representing the U.S. Virgin Islands in the House, appeared on MSNBC on Sunday and accidentally said the former president should be shot, then quickly corrected herself.
“Having Trump not only have had the codes, but now having the classified information for Americans and being able to put that out and share it in his resort with anyone and everyone who comes through should be terrifying to all Americans,” Plaskett said.
She added, “And he needs to be shot — stopped.”

Earlier this month, Trump was charged for his handling of classified documents.
Special Counsel Jack Smith hit Trump with 37 charges in the case, including 31 counts of willful retention of national defense information, one count of conspiracy to obstruct justice, one count of corruptly concealing a document or record, one count of concealing a document in a federal investigation, and one count related to making false statements.
