The owner of X, formerly Twitter, and billionaire Elon Musk offered a harsh takeaway of the pop-rock band Green day’s decision to bash MAGA supporters during its New Year’s Eve performance.
Musk responded to a report on the performance by Not the Bee on X, stating, “Green day goes from raging against the machine to milquetoastedly raging for it.”
The band changed the lyrics in its song “American Idiot” to “I’m not a part of the MAGA agenda” while performing on “Ryan Seacrest’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.”
Despite Green day’s continued opposition to what they consider “idiots,” the band’s ability to relate to common everyday Americans was questioned by other X users.
Rapper Hi-Rez offered a lengthy understanding of perception, stating, “I actually remembered the original line in their song said ‘I’m not a part of the redneck agenda.’”
