Family Waited Years For Killer To Face Justice Only For Court To Declare Him Insane

A Virginia court accepted a man’s plea deal on Thursday after he gunned down a charity CEO in bed in his home, according to multiple reports.

Joshua Danehower of Arlington will spend an unspecified amount of time in a state-run mental health center instead of prison over the June 2022 murder of Gret Glyer, head of the now-defunct charitable giving platform DonorSee, local mediaoutlets reported. Danehower premeditated the slaying with a written plan describing Glyer’s location, lockpicking and escape tactics, all based on an obsession with Glyer’s wife, prosecutors reportedly said.

“An evil man took his life in the middle of the night. A coward,” said Glyer’s mother, Silvia, after learning of the agreement, according to WUSA9. “Somebody who planned step by step a murder and who is backed up by the justice system in Virginia.”

The Fairfax County Commonwealth Attorney’s Office, which rubber-stamped the deal with Danehower’s legal defense, did not respond to the 🏢Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.
