The company was reportedly shopping around for roughly 400,000 square feet of office space in the Tennessee capital that it could occupy within two to three years, according to Politico. The potential move came as Democratic California Attorney General Rob Bonta led a coalition of 12 state attorneys general seeking to block Paramount’s roughly $110 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery.
Paramount representatives reportedly contacted at least two real estate developers about potentially constructing new offices in Nashville, Politico reported. No existing Nashville building holds enough available space matching Paramount’s reported needs and timeline as of now, according to Politico.
Company representatives were also reportedly shown a vacant multi-acre property outside downtown Nashville where new offices could be constructed.
Tennessee Republican Gov. Bill Lee publicly courted the company in July, saying the state would welcome Paramount.
“Tennessee is a place where innovation & creativity thrive,” Lee wrote. “Paramount has played an important role in shaping American culture, & we’d welcome the opportunity to see the next chapter of that story unfold in the Volunteer State.”
Paramount already has a foothold in Nashville through Country Music Television (CMT), which renewed
