The National christmas tree was toppled due to excessive winds near the White House.
According to WTOP News, the tree fell around 1 p.m. Tuesday. A National Parks Service spokesperson stated, “After assessing the tree’s condition and replacing a snapped cable, the tree is now upright as of 6 p.m.”
But that didn’t stop social media users from using the situation to comment on the state of the nation.
The Citizen Free Press posted to X, formerly Twitter, displaying an image of the fallen tree with the caption, “A fitting image of the Biden White House.”
The Young Americans for Liberty organization noted the tree falling was “Symbolism.”
News Anchor Adam Longo stated, “NEW: the National christmas tree is DOWN!”
“We’re trying to get video or pics but the entire area is cordoned off by crews who are setting up the area for Thursday’s ceremony.”
Not the Bee captioned its post, “National christmas tree does best Biden impression by falling over ahead of president’s lighting ceremony, may not be salvageable.”
