Several anonymous sources have praised the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for axing its diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs, according to a recent report.
One such anonymous source said that before FBI Director Kash Patel assumed his position, there was an “over-emphasis” on DEI in the agency, “to the exclusion of actual work,” according to the report from a national alliance of active-duty and retired FBI special agents and analysts, which is set to be handed over to the House and Senate Judiciary Committees this week. The report, cited by the New York Post on Sunday, comes as the Trump administration has been cracking down on DEI-related efforts across corporate America as well as various federal agencies.
Additionally, another anonymous source cited in the report said that “younger FBI employees enjoyed programs focused on DEI because those programs took their time away from doing actual work,” while “the more senior employees stayed silent for fear of being labeled a ‘racist’ when it came to commenting on the focus placed on DEI.” The same source claimed that the FBI eliminating DEI-related programs and training has helped to lessen the “administrative burden” placed on employees at the agency, the report states.
