Former White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders is weighing in on the recent reports surrounding alleged comments made by President Donald Trump.
Sanders appeared on “The View” on Tuesday where co-host Meghan McCain pressed the former press secretary for a response regarding The Atlantic’s report published on Sept. 3. The report said Trump disparaged fallen U.S. soldiers and wounded veterans.
After noting the timing of the report ahead of the November election, McCain pointed out that Trump has a “record of insulting veterans” and people then “tend to believe it.”
She then asked if Sanders understands McCain’s and others’ perspective of the article, to which Sanders responded that Trump has “respect and admiration” of those who serve in the Military.
“It didn’t happen,” she then said, after saying that she was one of the few people in the room during an instance that was reported about in the Atlantic where Trump allegedly called fallen U.S. soldiers “losers.”
She added, “That’s not who this president is, and that’s not how he feels about the men and women who serve in our Military.”
