Scarborough Says Kamala Harris ‘Trying To Be More Woke’ In 2019 Haunts Her 2024 Bid

MSNBC host Joe Scarborough admitted Friday that Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign statements in her run for the Democratic nomination during the 2020 cycle are haunting her 2024 bid.

Harris has backed away from several left-wing positions on health care, gun control, illegal immigration and fracking that she held during her campaign for the 2020 Democratic nomination for president. Scarborough said that her latest campaign has done well responding to her past policy statements, but that they need to be aware of commercials that could sway voters, citing one noting her past support for taxpayer-funded sex change operations for illegal immigrants.

“By the way, just for people that are watching going, ‘Wait, how could they not, how could they not vote for Kamala Harris?’ What they’re seeing, and I saw it this weekend while I was watching football games, commercial after commercial after commercial after commercial of Kamala Harris in 2019 saying that she supported federal funding for transition operations,” Scarborough told “Morning Joe” panelist John Heilemann.
