Asian Tour Forms Alliance with PGA and DP World
The Asian Tour severed its ties with LIV Golf and joined a multi-year partnership with the PGA Tour and DP World Tour through 2029, signaling a major realignment in global golf. The alliance will immediately create formal pathways for Asian Tour members to earn status on the DP World Tour, with at least two co-sanctioned events added to the DP World Tour calendar for 2027–2029. Co-sanctioning will expand opportunities for Asian players and reintroduce the DP World Tour to events in Asia, including the Hong Kong Open. The move follows LIV Golf’s funding concerns and aims to secure durable, cross-tour pathways as the sport realigns. Executives say the deal expands cooperation across tours and defines how top Asian Tour performers may access cards on the DP World Tour and, through the alliance, on the PGA Tour. Overall, the agreements mark a new era of collaboration in the global golf ecosystem.
