Stagwell Taps dentsu Veteran Rutgersson as Assembly Global CEO

Stagwell has appointed Liz Rutgersson as CEO of Assembly, overseeing its global and North American operations, while Connie Chan will become CEO of Assembly APAC and retain her role as Stagwell APAC’s chief growth officer. Rutgersson joins after 16 years at dentsu, most recently as CEO of iProspect North America, and brings more than two decades of experience in brand strategy, digital media, analytics and search. Chan has helped expand Stagwell’s presence and client partnerships across Asia-Pacific. The leadership changes are intended to drive Assembly’s next phase of growth, strengthen client relationships and build a more agile agency, with Rutgersson succeeding Rick Acampora, who moved to a holding-company role. Assembly operates as Stagwell’s global omnichannel agency, providing media, creative, commerce and technology services through more than 40 offices.
