AstraZeneca and Oracle begin AI project to speed trial recruitment
AstraZeneca and Oracle are collaborating to explore how AI, cloud infrastructure and real-world health data can improve clinical research and connect research findings with patient care. The effort will focus on identifying eligible trial participants, supporting earlier diagnosis, monitoring drug safety and using real-world evidence across areas including cancer, cardiovascular and metabolic conditions, respiratory and immune diseases, and rare disorders. The first program, with Abu Dhabi-based healthcare company M42, will focus on hypertension care and research, including identifying patients with uncontrolled blood pressure and improving clinical-trial recruitment; the partners say projects may also extend across the United States, the Middle East and Europe.
