Astronauts Share Spaceflight Lessons With Students
Retired astronaut Scott Kelly spoke with students from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, about life aboard the International Space Station and the effort behind pursuing ambitious goals. Drawing on his own experience of struggling in school before improving his grades and becoming an astronaut, he encouraged students to keep learning, take risks and treat failure as part of progress. Students asked about spaceflight, including daily life in orbit, and Kelly emphasized that the challenge—not simply the views or weightlessness—was the best part of being an astronaut.
