Astros Interview Nationals Champion Mike Rizzo for GM

The Houston Astros are interviewing former Washington Nationals executive Mike Rizzo for their vacant general manager position. Rizzo led Washington’s front office to its 2019 World Series title, defeating Houston, and reportedly prefers the Astros job after also interviewing with the Athletics. He is said to be drawn to Astros owner Jim Crane’s willingness to spend and has a strong interest in joining the organization. Houston is seeking a new general manager after parting ways with Dana Brown, while Rizzo’s long Nationals tenure ended in 2025.
