Auburn opens record $224M STEM+Ag complex
Auburn University officially opened its $224 million STEM + Agricultural Sciences Complex, a 265,000-square-foot, three-building facility described as the largest academic construction project in the university’s history. Already in use this fall, it brings six departments from the College of Agriculture and the College of Sciences and Mathematics under one roof, with nearly 70% of its space devoted to teaching and research laboratories. University leaders say shared spaces and interdisciplinary collaboration are intended to support research and education addressing challenges such as food security, environmental stewardship, human health and emerging technologies. Alabama contributed $50 million toward construction through the Public School and College Authority.
