Crashes close Highway 99, injure three in Colorado
A collision involving a semi-truck, a bus and several other vehicles closed Highway 99 in both directions near the Highway 91 interchange in Surrey and Delta, B.C., on Friday. Dashcam footage reportedly shows a truck crossing the median and hitting multiple vehicles, including a double-decker transit bus; authorities had not confirmed whether the bus had passengers or whether anyone was seriously injured. Firefighters and paramedics responded, and the highway was expected to remain closed for several hours, causing major delays. Separately, a seven-vehicle crash on East Woodmen Road near Union Boulevard in Colorado Springs left three drivers hospitalized, one with serious injuries. Police say a westbound vehicle lost control, hit the median and went airborne into eastbound traffic; speed is considered a contributing factor, while alcohol is not believed to be involved.
