Hartford Man Charged in Bloomfield Tow-Truck Death
A Hartford man, Curran Melanson, 28, was arrested and charged in connection with the Sept. 8 crash that killed tow truck operator Alexander Ramos, 26, in Bloomfield, Connecticut. Police say Ramos was found with severe head injuries beside his tow truck and was pronounced dead at the scene; a Honda Civic involved in the crash was found overturned nearby. Melanson faces second-degree manslaughter, operating under the influence, and failing to slow down or move over for an emergency vehicle. Investigators examined the vehicle and reviewed records before obtaining an arrest warrant. Melanson is being held on $425,000 bond.
