Three Holbrook Officers Rescue Driver From Burning Jeep
In Holbrook, Massachusetts, three police officers rescued a 37-year-old man from a burning Jeep after it crashed early Sunday, trapping his foot beneath the dashboard and setting it on fire. Body-camera footage shows the officers freeing him in about a minute; the first officer suffered minor burns, and the driver was hospitalized with injuries not believed to be life-threatening. Police say the Jeep struck a utility pole and a tree before hitting a retaining wall, and the driver faces charges including second-offense operating under the influence, negligent operation, speeding and a marked-lanes violation. Separately, in Berlin, Connecticut, an officer rescued a driver from a burning overturned vehicle near downed power lines; that driver was seriously injured, and crews addressed fire, utility hazards and a damaged transformer.
