Four Struck in Richmond Hill, One Critically Injured

An SUV struck four pedestrians—two women and two children, ages 7 and 1—at Major Mackenzie Drive and Newkirk Road in Richmond Hill around 3:18 p.m. Thursday. One woman suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a trauma centre; the other woman and both children were treated at a local hospital and have since been discharged. The driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with police.
