Baltimore Museum Opens Two-Century Photography Exhibition
Several photography exhibitions spotlight history and overlooked perspectives. The Baltimore Museum of Art’s “Flashback: Two Centuries of Baltimore Photography” traces the city’s photographic history from the 1840s to the present, bringing together historic and contemporary work and featuring an open call for emerging local photographers. Another review highlights Melissa Auf der Maur’s 1990s rock photographs at the Art Gallery of Ontario, which preserve candid scenes from a pre-digital music culture. In Edmond, Oklahoma, the photography exhibition “The Other Side” explores hidden stories, places and people along historic Route 66 as the highway approaches its centennial.
