Baltimore Woman Gets 140 Years for Fatal Shooting
Cassandra McRae was sentenced to serve 140 years in prison, with the first 25 years without parole, for her role in a January 2025 shooting in Baltimore that killed 52-year-old Antoinette Jennings and wounded Jennings’s son and 11-year-old granddaughter. Prosecutors said the shooting followed an altercation at a children’s basketball game: McRae followed Jennings’s vehicle and pointed it out as two men approached, one of whom opened fire. A jury convicted McRae of second-degree murder and related conspiracy, attempted-murder, firearm and reckless-endangerment charges; she maintained her innocence at sentencing. Tavon Singleton, one of the men charged in the case, was acquitted, and another suspected shooter remains at large.
