Stephanie Oropeza, still wearing a banana costume while returning from a Halloween party with her fiancé, stopped to call 911 after an SUV crashed into the patio of The Moderne Bar in Orlando around 4 a.m. Saturday. The vehicle damaged outdoor seating, railings and a planter, but no one was injured. Video of Oropeza reporting the crash went viral, and the restaurant dubbed her the “banana hero” and later thanked her with a free meal. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and the bar’s patio was closed for repairs.
