Basecamp Research Raises $140M for AI Therapies

London-based Basecamp Research raised an oversubscribed $140 million Series C led by S32, with backing from investors including Anthropic’s Anthology Fund, NVIDIA, NATO Innovation Fund, and True Ventures, along with senior pharmaceutical and biotechnology executives. The company will use the funding to train new generations of its EDEN biological foundation models, advance AI-designed therapeutics toward clinical development, and expand pharmaceutical partnerships. Basecamp combines biological data, AI models, and DNA-writing technology to develop in vivo cell therapies, gene therapies, enzyme designs, and other treatments intended to reprogram patients’ cells inside the body. The company said it has produced strong preclinical results across multiple disease areas, including potential applications in cancer and autoimmune disease. S32 General Partner Andy Conrad will join Basecamp’s board, while the company also highlighted the participation of Roche Vice Chairman André Hoffmann and other industry leaders.
