Basketball Matchups Span Opening Week

The NBA season’s opening stretch has produced uneven starts, injuries and surprising results, setting up a slate of notable matchups. Philadelphia’s LeBron James has focused on playmaking alongside Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid and Jaylen Brown ahead of the 76ers’ meeting with Indiana, while unbeaten Oklahoma City faces Dallas. Other games to watch include struggling Miami against Atlanta, winless defending champion New York against unbeaten Detroit, and Houston—also undefeated—against Milwaukee. Brooklyn enters its matchup with Boston on a three-game skid after a lopsided loss to Indiana, while the Celtics have won two straight and are favored to keep their momentum at home.
