Baylor Reportedly Eyes Lincoln Riley Amid USC Uncertainty
Lincoln Riley’s future at USC is under scrutiny after the Trojans’ 24-7 loss to Wisconsin, which left them 6-2 and unranked ahead of a difficult matchup with Ohio State. Riley has said he wants to remain at USC, while a report described the relationship as an “unhappy marriage” and college football insider Pete Nakos said Baylor could be interested if Riley becomes available after firing Dave Aranda. Analysts and coverage of the Wisconsin game have pointed to USC’s weak rushing attack, offensive struggles and questions about veteran leadership; Riley also drew criticism for saying USC’s defense dominated much of the game and that the team did good things in the run game. Riley is 41-20 at USC and has not led the Trojans to the College Football Playoff; a reported buyout of about $70 million would make a departure costly.
