Behavioral Health Efforts Include New California Hub and Ohio Oversight Shift
Behavioral health initiatives across the country are emphasizing integrated care, professional training and stronger systems of support. North Dakota’s annual Behavioral Health & Children and Family Services Conference will bring together providers, advocates, public officials and community partners for in-person and virtual sessions on behavioral health, child welfare, prevention, recovery and related topics, along with awards recognizing contributions to the field. UC San Diego Health is developing a centralized behavioral health hub that will combine inpatient and outpatient treatment, research and workforce training, supported by a $10 million lead gift and a broader fundraising effort. Compassion Behavioral Health has expanded an educational resource explaining how mental health conditions and substance use disorders can be treated together through a continuum ranging from detoxification and residential care to outpatient and psychiatric services. In Ohio, the Mental Health and Recovery Services Board is discussing changes to recovery-housing certification oversight under an executive order from Gov. Mike DeWine.
