Bette Midler Receives 2026 Woody Guthrie Prize

Bette Midler received the 2026 Woody Guthrie Prize at Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa, honoring artists whose work carries Guthrie’s tradition of social commentary and advocacy. She marked the occasion with a performance of her updated version of Guthrie’s protest song “All You Fascists (Bound to Lose),” which she said she rewrote to address current struggles and described as her contribution to the Resistance. Midler said the song reflected her belief that art can speak to justice when institutions fall short.
