Big 12, Big Ten Name Weekly Football Honorees

Texas Tech’s 53-25 win over Arizona State earned six Red Raiders spots on Pro Football Focus’ Big 12 Team of the Week, including running back J’Koby Williams, receiver Kenny Johnson and linebacker John Curry. The conference’s Week Seven honors also recognized BYU quarterback Bear Bachmeier and linebacker Cade Uluave, Houston quarterback Conner Weigman, TCU defensive lineman Koron Hayward, and Texas Tech kicker Stone Harrington, among others. Bachmeier led BYU past then-No. 2 Notre Dame with four total touchdowns, while Weigman threw for 343 yards and five scores in Houston’s win over Oklahoma State; Hayward had three sacks in TCU’s victory over Baylor. In the state’s midseason honors, Houston led with eight All-Texas selections, followed by Texas and Texas Tech with seven each; Weigman was named offensive player of the year, Texas defensive end Colin Simmons defensive player of the year, and UTSA coach Jeff Traylor coach of the year.
