Billings Stabbing Probe Ends Without Felony Charges
A nine-month investigation into an after-school stabbing involving a teacher and student at Billings Senior High has concluded without felony charges from the Yellowstone County Attorney’s Office. The case has been referred to the Billings city attorney for an independent review, and police have clarified that misdemeanor charges may still be considered. Billings Public Schools plans to conduct its own investigation and seek access to additional records. The decision has drawn frustration from the superintendent, teachers’ union and a student who witnessed the aftermath, with community members saying the lack of felony charges leaves questions about accountability unresolved.
