BioVersys has begun enrolling patients in RIV-CARE, an open-label Phase 2b trial testing BV100 for serious infections caused by carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter, a difficult-to-treat hospital pathogen. The study plans to enroll about 100 patients and compare BV100 with low-dose polymyxin B and either ceftazidime/avibactam or cefiderocol against best available therapy, generating evidence across regions with high antibiotic resistance; it is run by the ADVANCE-ID network with Wellcome support and complements the ongoing Phase 3 RIV-TARGET trial.
