Birmingham police have charged 37-year-old Simeon Wallace with murder in the Nov. 1 death of Brian Keith Lowe Jr., who was found shot inside an abandoned building on Second Avenue South; Wallace is being held without bond and is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. In a separate fatal shooting at a residence on 44th Place North, 23-year-old Dylan Nash was charged with murder and unlawfully possessing a firearm after 22-year-old Makayla May Riley was killed. Police are also investigating the Nov. 4 killing of 35-year-old Ralen Jean McCurdy at a home in the Kingston community; no suspect was in custody in that case.
