BNP Paribas Q3 Profit Beats Forecasts, Plans Buyback
BNP Paribas reported third-quarter revenue of about €13.76 billion, up roughly 9.5% year over year and ahead of expectations, while net profit rose 13.5% to €3.46 billion. Equities trading was a key growth driver, with revenue at its equities and prime-services business climbing 50%; for the first nine months, net profit increased 19.1% to €11.02 billion. The bank’s cost of risk rose, particularly in commercial and personal banking, but its CET1 capital ratio was 12.9% and return on tangible equity reached 13.2%. BNP reaffirmed its 2026 and 2028 profitability and efficiency targets and, after regulatory approval, said it would begin a €1.3 billion share buyback in November.
