Boards reject housing proposals in three communities

Lexington planners rejected a rezoning request from Chicago-based Up Campus for a 10-story student apartment building in the downtown Aylesford neighborhood. Residents and commissioners raised concerns that the project would harm historic homes, affordable housing and the area’s character, while the developer argued that restricting redevelopment near historic properties could limit change across downtown.
