Boil Water Advisories Affect Savannah, Titusville, Biggar
Savannah issued a precautionary boil-water advisory for about 100 homes near East Gwinnett Street, between Pennsylvania and Minnesota avenues, after a fiber-optic installation crew damaged a water main. Residents should boil water at a rolling boil for at least one minute before drinking, cooking, brushing their teeth, making ice or preparing baby formula, and continue doing so until the city lifts the advisory. City crews are repairing the main and working to restore water pressure, with further updates expected. The city also reported a separate emergency water-main repair that has closed portions of Hopkins and 48th streets through Oct. 12.
