Britney Spears Anniversary Reissue Adds Five Unreleased Songs
Britney Spears’ 2001 album “Britney” is being marked with a 25th-anniversary edition, revisiting a record that captured her shift from teen pop star toward a more mature and experimental sound. Released shortly before her 20th birthday, the album featured songs including “I’m a Slave 4 U,” “Overprotected” and “I’m Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman,” and went quadruple platinum in less than two months. The expanded collection includes two remixes and five previously unreleased songs from the era, alongside other rare recordings and alternate versions. The reissue arrives as Spears has said she does not plan to return to the music industry and after she sold the rights to her music catalog.
